Janey Rives is a Texas Hill Country artist and designer who is passionately committed to design and color. Beginning her career as a freelance designer in 1981, she has executed a number of commercial and residential interior design projects, many in the development of the world-renowned Horshoe Bay Resort.
Janey combines her distinctive design skills with her talents as a fine artist to create one-of-a-kind works of art in a variety of media, including painted tapestries, wall murals, watercolor collages and paintings on canvas.
A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Janey continues her art training at the Art Students League of New York. In addition, she has studied with Barbara Nechis, formerly of Parsons The New School for Design and Pratt Institute in New York City, oil technique with acclaimed San Antonio artist Vie Dunn-Harr; and watercolor technique with Anne Westerman of Oregon.
