Jairo López was born in Sogomoso, Colombia. He completed his Philosophical studies in the Roman Catholic Seminary in Tunja, Colombia. Jairo López moved to the United States in 1992 and completed his Thelogical Studies at St.Vincent de Paul Seminary in Boynton Beach, Florida. He was Ordained to the Roman Catholic Priesthood in 1994 and currently serves as a parish priest in the Diocese of Austin, TX.
Jairo López has a deep appreciation and love for art. He has studied art at St. Edward's University in Austin, TX and the Mosaic Art School in Ravenna, Italy. He is an Artist in the mediums of oil paint and mosaic art. Commissioned pieces are prominently displayed in the Catholic Chancery Chapel of The Diocese of Austin, Residence of the Bishop in Austin, St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and Parish Hall in Marble Falls, TX, St. Paul Catholic Church in San Antonio, TX and many private residences.
